About Us
All are
welcome to visit the Light of Christ Catholic Resource Center located in
Room 8 of the Parish Hall. The Catholic Resource Center has as its
mission to serve God and His people by providing a diverse selection of
Catholic books and gifts which will allow the Lord, Jesus,
to reign more fully in our lives. Special effort is made to select items
which celebrate our Catholic heritage and which will appeal to all ages.
The center is stocked with a wide variety of religious articles, such as
crucifixes, rosaries, medals, framed religious art, statues, greeting
cards, and gifts for all ages.
Books on our shelves include Bibles, the Catechism of the
Catholic Church, biblical and liturgical resources, Church documents,
dictionaries, and encyclopedias. Also available are materials on the
Saints, prayer and spirituality, family life, moral dilemmas, healing
and coping. Our center also offers books to aid those
interested in learning more about the Catholic Faith, with a special
emphasis toward supporting those persons involved in the Rite of
Christian Initiation of Adults and others interested in deepening their
faith.
Religious Articles. The
center is stocked with a wide variety of religious articles, such as
crucifixes, rosaries, medals, framed religious art, statues, greeting
cards, and gifts for all ages.
The center is located in Room 8 of
the parish hall and is run totally by volunteers who make it possible to
be open a variety of hours during the week. If you would like to
volunteer, please call the parish office at (727) 441-4545 and a
resource center volunteer will return your call.
Volunteer
Position: Sales Volunteer
Required of
Volunteer: Enjoy working with a team of
volunteers and assisting people who come to browse and purchase items.
You never know how one of the books, a religious article you sell, or
the few moments you take just to listen to a visitor in the Center, will
allow the Lord to touch that person.
Experience
necessary: No prior sales experience is
necessary.
Training
Required: Training will be provided.
Time Commitment:
About two hours a month. You may elect to work more often.
