Light of Christ Early Childhood
Center is a Catholic School for children age 2 to 4 years. We
are committed to providing a developmentally appropriate program
that encourages the spiritual, physical, intellectual, social
and emotional areas of total child growth. The faculty and staff
of Light of Christ Early Childhood Center, assisted by
supportive community and family members, seek to ensure an
accepting, safe, secure, Christian environment where children
are free to learn and grow.

Each year the parish rejoices with a
beautiful class of First Communicants! There should be at least
one year of religious education prior to the year of immediate
preparation for First Holy Communion. This guideline is met
through participation in a Catholic school or parish religious
education program. Each free-standing preparation program
involves the collaborative effort of the parish community and
the families of those presented for sacraments. For any
questions, please call 442-7081.

It is a wonderful moment when a
child comes to Jesus in the Rite of Reconciliation! There
should be at least one year of religious education prior to the
year of immediate preparation for the First Rite of
Reconciliation. This guideline is met through participation in a
Catholic school or parish religious education program. Each
free-standing preparation program involves the collaborative
effort of the parish community and the families of those
presented for sacraments. For any questions, please call
442-7081.

In the Hall of the Parish Center,
open to all on the honor system, is a collection of Catholic
reading from scripture study to lives of saints. Everyone is
free to borrow any of these books on prayer, morality, theology,
and spiritual growth. All who love to read will love our
library! We ask only two things: First, if you take something,
bring it back! Secondly, when it's time to clean out your
library at home, bring us only your best spiritual books! Even
though it's an honor-system library open to all, we want to keep
a high standard for our parishioners!

Life Teen |
The Life Teen Program is a youth ministry program with a strong
focus on the Eucharist. Starting with a weekly Life Teen Mass, high
school teens are placed in an environment where they have the
opportunity to fully experience the greatest gift we have as the
Church. This liturgy provides the cultural connection for the
teens-allowing them to take ownership of their faith so it's not
just their "parent's thing" anymore. They begin to develop a
relationship with Jesus that is both personal and real: Immediately
following the Mass, teens gather for the Life Night to learn about
the Church and their faith in challenging ways.

When young adolescents hit grades 6, 7, & 8, lots
of crazy things happen; bodies are growing rapidly, reasoning skills
increase, boys like girls, girls like boys, and both are starting
think about what it will be like to be a teen or an adult.
They are not really
children anymore, but they are not adults either. They are in a
place we could call-
The Edge.
The Edge is a Catholic youth ministry designed to meet the
educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of young
adolescents. The youth are
making decisions and beginning to question who they are, what they
believe, and who they want to be.
The Edge provides a unique environment to help them through
these transitions. However,
parents are always the primary teachers, through word and example,
for youth.
Parental involvement is
imperative.
For any questions,
call 727-442-3418.

To assist parents with children
not-yet-ready for Mass, classes are provided for children of ages 2,
3, 4 and 5 from 9:30 - 10:30 am. The purpose of these classes are
to provide excellent child-care (including a wonderful play
environment and a light snack), to give our little ones stories from
the Bible (especially about Jesus), to pray and sing together, and
to begin instruction about the Mass (to help them get ready to be
with the family at Church). To register your little one, please call 442-7081.

SPOTLIGHT MASS
|
2011
- 2012 SPOTLIGHT MASS PARTICIPATION
The purpose of the Spotlight Mass is to
strengthen the relationship between religious education classes and
the Mass. Once per month, a religious education class will
actively participate during the 9:30am Mass filling the following
roles: lector (grades 4 and up), gift bearers, greeters, and
distribute bulletins. The grade level is spotlighted during October
- May, on the second Sunday of the month. A brief training session
is required for lectors and gift bearers. Spotlighted children, and
their families, have reserved pews during Mass.

|
We are an organization comprised of
parents of young children attending Light of Christ preschool.
Our purpose is to assist teachers with classroom projects,
enabling them to spend added time with our children. The
meetings, held the first Wednesday of each month, give parents
an opportunity to socialize while lending out support to the
school.
