Second Sunday of each month. 9:30 a.m.

Registering in a parish is a declaration of your desire to be part of a Catholic community and a commitment to the life of the parish family.  Being a registered parishioner makes things much easier when it is time for infant baptism, school registration, weddings, when asked to be a baptismal or confirmation sponsor, and even funerals.  Please consider registering at our New Member Welcome Breakfast on Sunday, February 12th, at 9:15 a.m., in Msgr. Allman Hall, rooms 5 & 6.  Please RSVP to 441-4545.

For us to adequately prepare for the breakfast, please call the rectory, 441-4545, and let us know how many people will be in your group.

Hi-Liters

The Hi-Liters want to honor our Country's Founding Fathers during the month of February by celebrating the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and the Presidents' Day. We will show our patriotism on Thursday, February 9th when we meet in the J/F Wing at 12:30 pm. Be prepared to enjoy playing cards or games after our refreshments. The LOC Faith Community Nurses will be hosting their Monthly Blood Pressure Screening on Feb 5th in the Parish Hall from 9 AM to 11:30AM in Room 7. Please come and meet your dedicated Parish Nurses. We will be introducing you to a different nurse each month. This month, come and meet Ellen who flew in a Hot Air Balloon over New Mexico!

LIGHT OF CHRIST CATHOLIC CHURCH PARISH PICNIC 2012 The schedule of the Parish Picnic planning meetings for Jan. 2012 is given below. All parishioners willing to offer heir time and talent for the success of the picnic are invited to attend. We welcome your ideas and comments. It is also very important that all chairpersons from last year attend the January planning meetings. It is important to the success of the picnic that the chairpersons from last year commit to being chairpersons again this year. The efforts you provided last year are greatly appreciated and needed again this year. The next meetings are January 31st , February 16th and 23rd at 7:00 pm

The Jubilee Mass of Thanksgiving with Bishop Robert Lynch honoring couples throughout the diocese who will celebrate 25, 50 or more years of marriage during 2012 will take place at St. Jude Cathedral on Sunday, February 12th at 3:00pm. A reception with light hors d'oeuvres will follow.

The Light of Christ Communication & Technology ministry will be offering a free computer class Saturday, February 18th from 10:00 am to noon in the John Francis wing. The topic of the class is Computer Maintenance. The class will cover the basics of file maintenance, optimization suggestions, system software updating and basic security software. If you own a laptop computer, you are encouraged to bring it to the class for specific help with your computer.

Indoor Yard Sale, Saturday, Feb. 18th, 2012, 8a.m. to 1 p.m. at Light of Christ Parish Hall, (2176 Marilyn St., Clearwater.) Eight (8) foot tables for rent only $15.00 each. Some restrictions apply. The Catholic Men's Association (CMA) is sponsoring a Blood Drive- Saturday, Feb. 18th and Sunday, Feb. 19th (8am to 12:00 noon both days) in the north parking lot. Men's Retreat. 

February 24 - 26.  St. Leo's Abbey.

All men are invited to join us for a weekend of rest, fellowship and spiritual exploration, sponsored by the Light of Christ Men's Retreat Group.  Location is St. Leo's Abbey Retreat Center, near Zephyrhills.   The adult retreat center with single & double rooms, accommodating up to fifty participants, has been reserved.  Website; www.saintleoabbey.org

-       Check-in between 6:00 & 7:00 pm, on Friday.  Check-out Noon, Sunday.   

-       Cost is $150.00, but no one will be turned away, for financial reasons.  Consider paying for a friend.

St. Vincent DePaul Society sponsored "Free Meds" Program, is dedicated to helping people in need obtain maintenance prescription drugs at no cost to them. If you would like to help, we welcome you to join our team. Please call 461-9598. If you are an adult with limited income and lack access to prescription drug services, we invite you to contact us. Our patient advocates will determine if you are eligible for free medications to treat your chronic health conditions. Advocates will work with you to complete application forms and initiate refill requests. This program is sponsored by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Upper Pinellas District Council, and The Health Councils, Inc. with funding provided by Pinellas County Government. Pinellas Hope Needs You Pinellas Hope, a shelter ministry for the homeless in Pinellas County, is a diocesan Ministry of Mercy that needs your help. An Abused Child Needs You - As a Guardian ad Litem, you advocate in court and the child welfare system for abused, abandoned or neglected children and teens. The average  time needed is four to six hours a month. As a child's advocate, a Guardian ad Litem visits the child every month, becomes familiar with the child's case and makes recommendations to the court to help ensure the child has a safe, caring and stable environment.
